NHS vaccine bus arranged for over-40s in south side by Glasgow Gurdwara

A vaccine bus will be available this week in the south side of the city.

The Glasgow Gurdwara have arranged the bus where you can receive NHS vaccinations for those over-40 who are still waiting to get their covid vaccination.

The service will run on Wednesday May 26 and Thursday May 27 from 11am until 6pm.

It is intended for those who are aged over 40 and are yet to receive their first dose of the vaccine.

It comes as NHS bosses have said they are “looking into reasons why” around half of the vaccine appointments were missed at the SSE Hydro last weekend.

An accelerated vaccine roll out has begun in earnest in areas of heightened transmission rates, particularly in the south side.

Scots aged 18 to 29 can now register to receive details of their coronavirus vaccination dates by text or email, rather than by letter.

Vaccinations for the final adult age group are expected to begin in mid-June, but a two-week registration period is now open to receive digital alerts so 18 to 29-years olds do not miss an invitation for a vaccine appointment.

The bus has been arranged for this Wednesday and Thursday.

Registration is not compulsory and those who do not register will still receive an offer of a vaccine appointment through the post – as long as their GP’s details are up to date.

To register for alerts about appointments, those who are eligible should visit https://register.vacs.nhs.scot before Friday June 4.

The vaccine bus will be parked at the Glasgow Gurdwara on 37 Albert Drive, in the south side of the city..
